Rutilated Quartz Cabochon Surrounded by Scroll Work and Twisted Wire
Now here is an amazing stone. 35mm x 20mm Rutilated Quartz with Iron rutile inclusions. This is a case where inclusions are a good thing. It's clear as can be with reddish colored wisps of Iron Red. So Cool! The stone is set in a fine silver bezel setting that I have scalloped the edges. Sterling silver scroll work adorning the outside of the stone. 18 inch sterling silver chain.
Fine Silver Leaf on Leather Cord
My real leaves are one of my favorite things to make. I pick real leaves, then I paint the back of them with a material that has fine silver suspended in it. After I have twelve layers on it I make sure it's completely dry. It goes into a kiln and fires at 1650 degrees. The firing burns away the leaf and all the material that suspends the fine silver so when you take it out you have an exact replica of a actual leaf. I put this one into hot Liver of Sulphur to give the unusual color then burnish the high points.
Sterling Silver Pendant with Blue Topaz Item AIM
20 gauge sterling silver disk that has been hand pierced using a jewelers saw. A pattern is glued to the top of the metal and center punched in each area to be cut out. A drill is used to cut a hole in each area, then the bottom of the saw blade is fed through the hole and each area is sawn out. Next is filing and sanding. It's textured and domed then a fine silver bezel cup is soldered in the center and set. A final polish and it's done.
Hand Pierced Sterling Silver Pendant
I believe this is dyed agate that I have set in fine silver bezel setting on a hand pierced 20 gauge disk of sterling silver. After I sawed it out, I textured it with a ball peen hammer and dombed it to give it more dimension. It's on a 22" black leather cord, but that could easily be changed to a chain.
